Electrical designers, who play a major role in electronic product development, can improve design efficiency by fully employing DS-2's functions on a daily basis. DS-2 provides an operation infrastructure for designers that could only have come from Zuken which is well acquainted with development operations.
Designers have to carry out additional tasks during their daily duties. Engineering Desktop provides a desktop environment which supports frequently undertaken designer tasks such as startup of design tools, component and design data searches/reverse searches and reuse, design data history management, three way verification (circuits, boards, BOM), application for design approval, management of modified data, and the output of differences in design modifications.
DS-2 not only visualizes product development, but also provides work process navigation functions which are useful from an individual designer's perspective. Process Navigator has functions such as navigation through the tasks the designer must perform that day, development event management, visualization of the degree of progress based on product, problem solving process management, and processes support necessary for achieving compliance with standards etc.
